Terms & Conditions of Registration
These are the terms between GHCA and a registered candidate: what GHCA undertakes to do, what is expected of you, and what happens to a credential once it has been issued.
Who these terms are between
These terms are between you — the person registering for a GHCA qualification — and the Global Human Capital Academy Inc., a Canadian corporation at 215-312 Erb St W, Waterloo ON N2L 0K9, Canada.
They take effect when you register for a GHCA qualification, examination or related service, whether you register directly or an Authorized Training Provider registers you. Registering means you accept them.
If a training provider enrols you, these terms still apply directly between you and GHCA. Your separate arrangement with that provider — how they teach, schedule or charge for a course — is between you and them.
Eligibility and registration
Each credential has its own entry requirements, published on its credential page. Some have none; others ask for a minimum number of years of relevant experience. Meeting the requirement for the credential you register for is your responsibility.
When you register, you confirm that everything you tell GHCA — your identity, and any experience or prior qualifications you rely on to meet an entry requirement — is accurate and complete.
Giving false or misleading information is a ground to withdraw a credential under the Suspension, Withdrawal and Cancellation Policy, whether GHCA discovers it before an award or years afterwards.
Fees, payment and refunds
Fees are those published in GHCA's Fee Schedule at the time you register, and are payable in advance of the service they relate to — training, examination, certification or recertification — unless GHCA agrees otherwise in writing. Whether you pay GHCA directly or through your training provider, the amount is the published fee.
Cancel more than 10 working days before a scheduled sitting and you are refunded in full, less any non-refundable third-party cost already incurred on your behalf. Within 10 working days of a sitting the fee is not refundable, unless a Special Consideration request is upheld.
If GHCA cancels or reschedules a sitting, you choose between a full refund and a free rebooking. You may transfer to a different date once, subject to availability and any transfer fee in the Fee Schedule.
Not attending without cancelling is treated as a late cancellation: no refund and no automatic rebooking. If you missed the sitting because of a genuine, evidenced emergency, you can request Special Consideration within 5 working days.
Assessment
Your assessment is delivered and monitored under GHCA's AIS-4 Assessment Integrity Standard. You agree to verify your identity before a sitting and to take the assessment under the monitored conditions that standard requires.
What GHCA does and does not collect or record during a sitting is set out in the Privacy Notice. If GHCA later introduces additional checks — such as video proctoring or biometric identity matching — they will apply on the terms described there, not automatically.
You must take part in good faith and meet any attendance requirement for your programme before you are eligible to sit. You must not attempt, assist or facilitate malpractice, as defined in the Malpractice and Maladministration Policy.
Results, certification and the Registry
A pass is decided against a fixed, published standard — not against how others in your sitting performed. GHCA releases your result once marking and any moderation are complete.
On a pass, GHCA issues your credential subject to a separate Certification Agreement, which you accept at the point of award, and creates your entry on the public Global Registry.
The Registry shows only your name as registered, the credential, its current status, and the award and expiry dates. It never shows your scores, contact details or identity documents. What the Registry publishes, and for how long, is described in the Privacy Notice.
Validity and renewal
Each credential is valid for a set period from its award date. The term differs by credential and is stated on its credential page; the Registry shows the award date and the date the credential expires or changes status.
A credential that lapses is not removed from the Registry — its status changes to show it is no longer current. You keep it active by meeting the requirements of the CPD and Recertification Policy before it expires.
Suspension and revocation
GHCA can suspend or withdraw a credential for a confirmed malpractice finding, for a registration declaration that turns out to be untrue, or for another breach of these terms, following the process in the Suspension, Withdrawal and Cancellation Policy.
A suspension or withdrawal is reflected on the public Registry, because the Registry has to show an accurate current position. The historical fact that the credential was awarded is not erased; the status shown alongside it changes.
Appeals and complaints
You can challenge a result or an assessment decision through the Appeals Policy, and raise a concern about GHCA's or a provider's service through the Complaints Policy. Both routes — with their deadlines and any fees — are published on the Appeals and complaints page.
Using either route in good faith never counts against you in any current or future dealing with GHCA.
Your obligations as a credential holder
Once certified, you may describe yourself using the credential and its post-nominal letters while it is active, and only as set out in the Logo and Certification Mark Usage Policy. You must not alter GHCA's marks, claim a credential you do not hold, or suggest GHCA endorses something it has not.
Keep your contact and identity details current with GHCA so that your record stays accurate.
Limits on GHCA's liability
A GHCA credential certifies that you met GHCA's assessment standard at a point in time. It is not a guarantee of employment, promotion, salary or any other outcome, and GHCA does not promise one.
Authorized Training Providers are independent organizations. GHCA is responsible for its own assessment and certification, not for how a provider teaches, schedules or charges for its courses.
To the maximum extent the law allows, GHCA's liability to you under these terms is limited to the fees you paid for the specific service the claim arises from. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes to these terms
GHCA may update these terms from time to time. A material change is notified before it takes effect for new registrations.
A change does not apply retroactively to an assessment you have already scheduled under earlier terms, except where the change is needed to protect assessment integrity or to comply with the law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to the paragraph below.
GHCA registers candidates in many countries. Nothing in these terms removes a mandatory consumer protection you have under the law of the country where you live; where such a protection applies to you, it stands alongside these terms.
